Do i need an account to use this site?
No, you don't need an account to browse the adverts on UK Boat Search, but to place a Free Advert or to create a Trade Advert you do! We do encourage you to register to enjoy the full benefits of membership including access to your Free or Trade Account and also to take advantage of the UK Boat Search newsletter or new advert 'early notification email facility'. What is the difference between a trader and a free account?
There are 2 types of account on UK Boat Search, a Free Advert account and Trader account. A free advert account allows a private individual to place a completely free advert once they have registered. This advert can include a standard picture and can be updated as often as required. All we ask is that you remove the advert when it is no longer needed (you will be reminded a month after it is updated so that you can remove it if you have forgotten to do so). After removing your free advert you are able to place another when you next need to.

A Trader account is for anyone namely Traders or Dealers who want to be able to create multiple adverts and want to take advantage of more advanced facilities associated with this type of account. (Go back to the top)

How do I create an account?
1) Click on the "Trade Login" or "Free Adverts" button located at the top of the screen.
2) For Free Adverts just complete the registration form located on this page. For Trade Accounts please click the Trade registration from button located on this screen, underneath "Register now to become a Trader".
3) For both accounts complete the requested details accordingly and then click the "Sign Up" button located at the bottom of the page.
4) When you click the "Sign Up" button, a welcome email will be sent to the email address you provided with instructions on how to activate your account. (Go back to the top)

How do I activate my account?
Having clicked "Sign Up" on the registration page you are redirected to the Account Confirmation Screen and you will receive an Account Activation email. Within the email there is a link that you will need to click that will automatically complete the activation process for you which will be instant once you receive the email. This email may take a few minutes to perhaps an hour at very busy times. If you do not receive the email after this time please check your email junk or spam folder and then contact us if you have still not received it. (Go back to the top)

I deleted the account confirmation email by mistake, how can i activate my account now?
Click here to access the login information retreival form. Enter your registered email address and click "Get Password". If you account is not active you will now be sent another email giving you the chance to activate your account. This email may take a few minutes to perhaps an hour at very busy times. If you do not receive the email after this time please check your email junk or spam folder and then contact us if you have still not received it. (Go back to the top)

When i click on "My Account" the page stays blank and does not load?
This sounds like your internet browser is getting tangled up for some unknown reason. Please delete your temporary internet files and delete your cookies. Do this by clicking on Tools > Internet options - at the top of your internet browser. Now click on the "My Account" icon located at the top of the screen and it should work fine. When i click on "Login" the page comes straight back to the login screen?
This sounds like your internet browser is getting tangled up for some unknown reason. Please delete your temporary internet files and delete your cookies.     I am still having problems logging in (I Use Windows XP & Internet Explorer 6)!
    It has become apparent that certain builds of Windows XP running the Internet Explorer 6 web browser may expereince problems using the accounts area and shopping cart of Gameseek.co.uk. We are attempting to locate a solution to this, but it appears that they are caused by, according to Microsoft: 'Internet Explorer 6 implementing advanced cookie filtering' and various bugs related to the advanced Internet Explorer 6 engine.......A number of our customers (and ourselves) have solved this problem by using an alternative web browser such as Mozilla Firefox which can be downloaded completely free of charge here: Get Firefox!     How do I log-in?
    Before you can log-in you must have previously created an account.
    Click on the "My Account" icon located at the top of the screen.
    Enter your Username and Password in the fields provided.
    Click the "Login" button located in the centre of the screen.
    If your log-in has been successful you will be taken to your outstanding orders page in your account.(Go back to the top)

    How do I change my password?
    Log-in as usual and click on "Password" on the Account Information menu.You will now be asked to enter you current password, along with your new password. You are asked to enter you new password twice in order to eliminate the chance of a typing error. Click on Update Account to save your new password. (Go back to the top)

    What do I do if I have forgotten my password?
    Click here to access the login information retreival form. Enter your registered email address and click "Get Password". You will now be sent an email reminding you of your current password. This email may take a few minutes to perhaps an hour at very busy times.     How do I change my personal details?
    Log-in as usual to either your free or trade account and then from the Administration Area click on "Registered Details". You will now be able to view your current details and have the chance to edit them. Make any necessary changes and then click on "Update Details" to save your new information. (Go back to the top)

    Will i be charged for having an account?
    You will not be charged if you hold a Free Advert account; it is completely free. The Trade Account does have charges associated with it which depend on the level of subscription and additional facilities linked with your account. (Go back to the top)

    Will i be charged for receiving your newsletter?
    No, it is completely free.We send out email newsletters from time to time to keep you informed of new features on this site, other developments and also special offers and promotions when they arise. (Go back to the top)

    How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter?
    Log-in as usual to either your free or trade account and then from the Administration Area click on "Settings". You will the be able to alter your Newsletter preference along with other customisable account settings. Once you have altered your settings accordingly save them by clicking on the "Update Settings" button. You Can opt in and out of the newsletter at any time. (Go back to the top)

    How do I cancel my account?
    A free or trade account may be cancelled at any time by contacting us with your registered details and selecting the "Message Subject" - Account Cancellation Request and completing the form with your registered details and reasons for the request if apliccable. With a free account we will action the request as soon as possible in line with our Free advertising Terms & Conditions. Trade accounts will be cancelled in a similar way, however any outstanding charges will be billed in accordance with our Trade Account & Paid Advertising Billing Terms & Conditions.     How do I browse through the adverts?
    You can browse the adverts by category or sub-category quickly using the left-hand "Browse Adverts" menu by selecting a specific category (highlighted in bold) of adverts from the menu. The sub-categories are listed under each main category and clicking these menu items will narrow your advert listings accordingly. (Go back to the top)

    How do I search through the adverts?
    One of the easiest way to find adverts is to use the "Search" form which is can be accessed by clicking the Search button at the top of each page. You can select and search in specific categories such as "GRP Cruisers" or do a general search that covers all the categories on the website. Searching can be done by selecting inside the search box, then typing the specified details and clicking on "Go". Try to keep your search simple, for example: If you are searching for "Seahog Alaska 500 XL", instead of typing this phrase you may find what you are looking for much easier by entering just one or two words in the search, eg. "Seahog Alaska" or even "Seahog". Selecting an approprate category can narrow a broader search by possibly searching within a category when searching for "Seahog" boats you would be likley to select "Fishing Boats - Sports".     How do I place a Free advert?

    If you haven't already registered or logged-in, it will prompt you to do so now. You will also be given the oppurtunity to "Order as a Guest." (For more information about this please click here) Once you have made your selection, you will then be asked to enter a delivery address, but only if you haven't already stored this information in your account. Once you have done this, click on the "Confirm Order" button - located in the bottom right of the screen. You will now be asked to enter your payment details. Once you have completed this, a summary of the order will now be displayed for you to check that all the details are correct. The website will now check stock availability and confirm stock allocation/ordering as appropriate. Your order has now been placed. (Go back to the top)

    How do I manage my Adverts?
    1) Click on the "Trade Login" or "Free Adverts" button located at the top of the screen.
    2) Log-in and you will be directed to the "Administration Area" page in the accounts section.
    3) Click on the "Adverts" option.
    4) You will be presented with a few options click on "Create Advert" to go to the create new advert form or click on "Manage Advert" to view a list of all saved adverts. (Go back to the top)

    Which web browsers does your web site support?
